The future, one step at a time

It was President Abraham Lincoln who said, "The best thing about the future is it comes one day at a time."

Was listening to author Mary Lore recently when she said, "There is no such thing as the future. The future is an illusion. What we have is a now, followed by a now, followed by a series of nows."

In the moment, author Lore describes that fact that we don't suddenly become great leaders. As in, we don't suddenly accomplish a goal or fulfill a resolution. Instead, we have a series of "now" moments.

Lore's approach seems to correlate with that of Lincoln.

When we have accomplished enough of these now moments, goals are accomplished, bad habits are broken and resolutions are fulfilled. All good.

With "Honest Abe's" thought (now) firmly entrenched in the cranium,  please allow me to be the "trigger"—get started on the path of making a difference in yourself and others.
